playing bad ... running worse.
Raguna, Feb 10 2009
I usually tend to keep cool about poker, but these past few days have been by far the most frustrating since I started.
I've lost every coin flip (about six or seven) for stacks in the past three days QQ vs AK, AKs vs TT ... possibly the most painful being AKs vs 44. Lost KK to AK twice, ran KK into AA twice. In the past fifteen minutes alone, I lost AKs to 79o against a shorty, lost QQ to AK, lost TT to 55 . . . all of which were all in preflop.
The worst part about this is that running bad has been making me play even worse than I normally do, and my confidence is going way down.
God, just let me run good ONE TIME.
December results and 2009 goals.
Raguna, Jan 01 2009
The most disappointing part of December was not playing as much as I should have. I want to be more serious about learning the game, but the time I'm spending on it is a bit lacking. I didn't even play 15k hands in all of December.
I think it's an acceptable first month, but I obviously didn't play enough hands to make any conclusions about whether my play is profitable. In 2009, I want to spend at least 4-6 hours a day playing/studying poker, and I want to be a winning nl200+ player by the end of the year.
Anyways, a happy new year to all; may 2009 be a spectacular poker year.
Newb fish blog.
Raguna, Dec 23 2008
In all my time lurking on TL I never felt the urge to make a blog, but I did find motivation to do so here.
My motivation is twofold. First, I've become incredibly interested in poker, and I'd like to seriously get better for fun. Thus, I would like to become more involved in this crazy community, and a blog seems like a great place to make myself less intimidated about starting off here. Second and more importantly, I need a stupid blog to play the WBCOOP in the future.
On to the introductions, I'm a gigantic fish that currently plays nl25 on Full Tilt, and I've been lurking LP for about a month. I expect to be rolled to play nl50 by sometime in January, and my ultimate goal is to be good enough at the game to be a winning nl200+ player. I don't intend on making this a career, but I would give it serious consideration if at some point I was confident that I could make more doing this than whatever I would do otherwise.
In any case, it is a pleasure to meet anyone who has bothered to read this, and I look forward to finally having a place to post progress and rant about running bad.
